Hello, when you have time , can you please clarify for me? You say that G-d does not punish. It is just law of return. Do good get good , do bad get bad. But Mizrachi says G-d does punish and if we don’t get the punishment the first time and continue to follow the road of sin , G-d will punish us till we get it right. Please let me know, who is right? You or Mizrachi ? Thanks.

  • Shalom,
  • The meaning is the same as the intention of the creator is only to benefit people and whether we say god punishes or its an automatic effect that we caused,  ultimately we know that god directs the universe so it’s not an angry god but just that we lost knowledge of cosmic Torah law which would be like a child being angry for getting shocked after sticking their hand into an electric power outlet
So both rabbis emphasize a different mood in their lecture but the actual meaning is the same  It’s our responsibility for learning and sharing Torah law as a cosmic law for all people that want continued blessings and ignorance of the law doesn’t save us the pain of the “spiritual electric shock . best wishes ——— R.Yosef Karpman
