Dear Rabbi,
Can you please tell me where is it written how long a corpse can stay above ground? I heard it should be not more than 24 hrs, or maybe i heard it wrongly?
Thank you,
Willy
Shalom,
yes you heard correctly.
The Torah reccomends burials to be prompt so as to allow for the soul to go through Its process post Mortem and allow for a rebirth new gilgul as soon as possible if needed.
