Finding a yeshiva

Hello, I'm a 60 year old non-Jew who has been studying Torah privately with my wife for the last 3 years. We study the Parashah daily and periodically attend our local synagogue in Chania, Crete. It is small, non-orthodox and basically a point of historic interest, and has no Rabbi or yeshiva. Do you have any suggestions for good yeshivas in Israel that would accept me for a period of basic instruction? My main objectives are to learn better study habits and practice of daily worship. Your teaching videos have helped push me to get serious and stop coasting through life! Thank you.

Shalom, I am very happy to hear about your interest in the Torah. There are many Yeshivah's in Israel, therefore the find the right fit depends on many factors. Some places would not accept older men, some would not accept non Jews. And of course on your side, it depends on where you would prefer to live, budget, weather you speak Hebrew or will need studies in Hebrew and more more factors. I would suggest to start a research over the internet and once you narrowed the options down I can help make a decision. The most important thing to decide on is to make sure the Yeshivah will guide you to the right info and the right approach, as unfortuantly in todays day of age, many teach Torah and distort the truth and one needs to be very careful. Wishing you great success and please let me know if I can further help R. Anava
