Shalom, Unfortuantly, he has to recite the Shma for him'self. In general, anything you do can effect him. You should give charity in his name. Read a lot of Tehilim for him. Dedicate Torah classes in his name. Make him do as many Mitzvot as possible such as wearing Tzizit, putting some coins in a charity box and what ever he can and is willing to do. Needless to say, you should be praying for him and you can also add one very powerful prayer that has proven to work. Click here to watch this video, and in the minute 16:40 I am answering someone a similar question but in the minute 18:26 for about 5 minutes I am explaining about this special prayer you can do. Listen to it and then apply it. You can also email my staff his name, and I will pray for him also and we can dedicate some classes in his name May G-d send him and your entire family perfect health! All the best, Alon Anava
