I know it's in the Torah that we have to bench.....but, didn't Ezra, David, and Shlomo add on to it? Can i just say the first beracha and still make the misva lechatlilla?

Shalom,
ideally a person should complete the entire birkat ha mazon with song and simha*(the Hida R.haim Yosef David Azulai).
The understanding that a person can say a mini birkat ha mazon 1st paragraph is simply for children or those under major constraints and since its the only blessing that is D"orayta" maybe it deserves to be said with proper attention joy and mindfulness?
