If someone's adopted, does their genealogy follow their birth family or adoptive family? Do their kids souls come from their birth ancestors or adoptive ancestors? Do their birth family still get zechusim if they do mitzvos, or does it all go to their adoptive ancestors? Thanks.

Shalom,   The birth parents genealogy would follow and both parents adopted and birth would accrue the merits. The children’s souls always are from the birth parents.   Best Wishes    R.Yosef Karpman
