Shalom Rabbi, a couple of months ago we found a (live) yellow scorpion in our house.
Thank G-d our neighbor came and got rid of it safely. I was very scared and upset and
was wondering if there is a spiritual reason for having such a deadly creature come into
our home?  And if so, how should we handle that?

There are several ways to respond to it... 1-Thank G-D it was handled safely ! 2-The torah mentions the importance of giving charitably and tithing or giving 10% of ones time/energy/income. This is a general remedy for different types of infestation /problems. 3- Also it is important to check ones Mezuza on the different doorways and entrances to ones home. Customarily it is done prior to Rosh ha Shanah. Which might correspond to the timing of your scorpions entry Speaking from a purely pragmatic viewpoint spiders and other predatory insects frequently move during changes in weather or directly after their habitat was altered. Still every animal and creature is a messenger of the creator--so it would be wise to check and see if your mezuzot are kosher. Hoping you and your family stay safe-- Rabbi.Yosef Karpman
