Evil inclination

If a person gives into the evil inclination and fails the test is the reward taken forever. What happens to one?

The scenario of the test is a cyclical one until a person rectifies the breach and overcomes the evil inclination, a person will continually have the challenge return with slightly ramped up and increased intensity.
