Cemetery

Hi Rabbi Alon, Thank you for your wonderful and inspiring lectures. my father'S first yahrzeit just passed. I heard it's not recommended for women  to go to cemetery. Is that true? And what is the reason? thank you sharon

Shalom,     We learn  in the Zohar that a man shouldn’t look at his sister wife mother daughter etc.. while at the cemetery . So if a woman sees that there are men at the cemetery she could choose to arrange a time to visit directly before or after the men in her family visit so that they still leave together but not at the graves at the exact same moment.       The reason is that judgements and harsh judgements can befall a man who stares at a group of women in the cemetery.   Best Wishes——— R.Yosef Karpman
